United Airlines Flight 93 — Captain

Captain Jason M. Dahl was a lifelong aviator who began flying as a teenager and later served 16 years with United Airlines, becoming a Standards Captain who trained and evaluated other pilots.

On September 11, 2001, he was captain of United Airlines Flight 93. After the aircraft was hijacked, the passengers and crew fought back, and the plane ultimately crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania instead of reaching its presumed target in Washington, D.C.

Captain Dahl was 43 years old. He left behind his wife, Sandy, and his son, Matthew. His legacy continues through the Captain Jason Dahl Scholarship Fund, which supports aspiring aviation students.
